Microfluidics Technology Center

Wondering if a Microfluidizer processor would successfully address your formulation challenge?
We work with customers to create fine emulsions and suspensions in the nano or micron particle size, as well to disrupt cells (e.g., yeast and E. coli) or deagglomerate carbon nanotubes. The laboratory egnineers also works directly with Microfluidics’ Research and Development Engineers to translate customer needs into new formulation and processing concepts.
Our Laboratories Are Fully Equipped
The on-site laboratories include:
- laboratory and production-scale Microfluidizer® processors with a wide variety of interaction chambers for comparative results
- particle size analyzers for micron and submicron particles
- microscope with digital camera for observation and documentation
- highly trained personnel - our staff have Engineering Bachelor or Master degrees
What We Do For You
Technology Demonstration
We show you how your product can be processed on a Microfluidizer processor, the resulting particle size distribution analysis, and recommendations for optimum processing.
Product Optimization
We process your product on equipment chosen for your unique application, utilizing different pressures, temperatures, and microchannel configurations to optimize the results you want to achieve.
Process Optimization and Scale Up
When you are ready to scale up your process, we run tests to determine the most efficient equipment and interaction chamber configurations. This saves you time and money, producing the highest quality product.
Ready to Run a Sample?
First, submit a Sample Test Request Form. We understand many processes and formulations are confidential, and therefore we have an optional Sample Confidentiality Form available. Also complete a Material Safety Data Sheet for each part of your formulation to ensure the safety of our employees and proper handling of your sample. (It is necessary for us to be informed of all formulation components being sent to our laboratory for obvious safety considerations.) Subsequent follow-up communications facilitate timely processing of your sample. After processing the sample, your entire sample will be returned to you and you will be provided with a comprehensive written report detailing the results of our studies. The Microfluidics Technology Center's report typically contains before and after particle size analysis, microscopic images, process specifications, and recommendations.
